Turn the back on the evil ways

The Christian life is made up of difficult and important decisions that will define your path. There is a very popular saying in the midst of the Church of Christ and it is also inspired by the words of God: “get off the fence!”. This saying reflects the fact that many people call themselves Christians, but they continue to have attitudes or choices that diverge from the word of God. These people are often on the fence. Although salvation is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and by His grace, not through works, the Bible makes it clear that when we have Jesus into our hearts, we need to repent of our sins and turn from evil ways, which simply means that now you are heading in another direction which is the plan of God.
I know how hard is to make these choices and sometimes it could be painful, because we are leaving behind everything that we thought we knew, friends and family sometimes, but as closer you get from Jesus, you will not feel comfortable with these things anymore, the gossip, the curses, lies, drugs and drunkenness. You will lose the pleasure that you thought you had before.
But know that these changes come with your relationship with Jesus in prayer, asking for help to deliver you from the evil.
We are a work in progress in God’s hand, we are not perfect and we’ll never will be while we are in this body. We’ll fall many times, but the difference is to stand up and confess our mistakes and ask for forgiveness and strength to do not fall again.
You know our enemy is not the people, but the devil that will keep tempting you, but if you rebuke the devil in Jesus name and ask Jesus for help, He will help you, because God don’t allow you to be tempted more than you can resist, but with the temptation, He also provides escape. So, stay alert and always talking to Jesus in your spirit. (reading and reflecting about God’s word, talking to Jesus).
I know sometimes it might seem that we don’t care about the people we are turning the back, but it doesn’t mean you don’t love them, you will pray and intercede for their salvation, and if they come to you, you will help them as they might need, in prayer, in another assistance, always asking Jesus to use your life to help them, but this is the Holy Spirit work to touch the hearts. We can share our testimony and the gospel with them.
Note: Don’t turn your back on your family, just because they are not following Jesus. Pray for your family and obey God’s word, because your life is a living testimony of God’s love. But the battle is hard when it comes to families, so be strong, brave, renew your faith in Jesus, and keep praying and persevering.
Know that the fence is already the wrong path.
““To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.””Revelation 3:14-22 NIV
““To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.
I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
