It is getting very dark outside. Thick clouds are gathering on the horizon, and we know that a great storm is coming. This is a spiritual awakening for those who are asleep—for those who live their lives unaware of the times and seasons we are in.
A battle has been going on for centuries, and most people do not even realize that it is a battle for their souls.
There are two sides on this battlefield, and we must take a position. There is no middle ground and no neutral side. When we refuse to decide or take a stand, it is already established that we have not chosen God's side. The line is thin, the path is narrow, and the decision is urgent.
We live in a kind of spiritual “matrix,” which reminds me very much of the movie. Most people are spiritually asleep, and their lives are being carried along by darkness and evil, yet they feel numb. Day after day they live without purpose, chasing the treasures of this world—things that only leave their souls emptier than before. More money, more pleasure, more possessions, more fame, more knowledge, more power, more control. Yet in the end, their souls remain empty.
A choice must be made. Every person must decide which path to walk—the path that leads to eternal life or the one that leads to death. These things can be difficult to understand and even harder to believe. We watch movies about the battle between good and evil and think it is just fiction, but in many ways it reflects a deeper reality.
The Bible contains many passages that describe and explain these things, showing us how good and merciful God has been despite our pride and disobedience.
"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 2 Corinthians 4:4
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." 2 Timothy 3
"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths."
2 Timothy 4:2-4
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy[a] that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7: 13-14
We need to ask God to open our eyes so we can see and understand the times we are living in, and to give us the wisdom to live each day according to His Word and His will. However, the only way we can truly do this is through Jesus Christ. When we surrender our lives to Him, repent of our sins, and choose to follow Him, He gives us new life, delivers us from evil, and opens the eyes of our understanding—as we continue to cultivate a relationship with Him.
Salvation is personal. Make this decision for your life. Invite Jesus into your heart and tell Him that you want Him to be your Lord and personal Savior.
Open the door of your heart and invite Jesus today and don’t miss this opportunity, so you may be saved by His love and power.
I pray you will accept this invitation and allow God to give you a new life, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen!
