Back to First Love

Lord, my God and my Father. You are the strength of my life, my certainty, my rock and fortress.

Father, I know that with the worries of everyday life, sometimes I forget to look for you or think about your works.

Father, forgive me when I am selfish and think only of myself and my needs and wants.

Father, I fail and sin every day I ask for forgiveness, because every day I fall into the weaknesses of my mind, or flesh or tongue.

Father, all this you know, because you Lord is God Almighty, Omniscient and Omnipotent.

But, don't let me lose my first love. The first love I found in You, in Your word and in Your embrace.

Father, help me every day to return to Your first love and not to allow the ephemeral

and insignificant things of the everyday to steal my attention from You.

For the Lord is all that matters.

In You, Lord, I know that I am safe.

In You, Lord, I know that my ways will never be wrong.

In You, Lord, I can believe that the events of my day are because the Lord is in control, even if I do not see or understand, Your purposes are always better and bigger than mine.

Because I know that they all things cooperate for the good of those who trust and hope in You.

Father, always help to return to your first love, always to Your love. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
