Have you talked to God today?

The Lord knows our hearts and we cannot hide anything from Him, but He expects us to come and talk to Him. The Lord hears our prayers when we decide to change our lives, but if we decide to continue on our ways of wickedness and sin, the Lord cannot hear us, because He is Holy. But He expects us to be humble, confess our sins and repent, so if we change our ways and seek God's forgiveness and acknowledge His Son Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross, He will be ready to hear your prayers.

"What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." James 4:1-3

We need to observe how we are praying, whether we are being selfish or petty, whether our prayers are of vanity. God is not a genius of the lamp to meet our whims and selfish requests. So, these prayers are not heard. The Lord wants us to seek first a pure heart, that our mind is free from the love of material things and all that is worldly. The Lord hears our prayers when our requests are in accordance with the heart of God and in accordance with the Word of God. When you pray, present your problems to God and ask for help, but above all, God's will be done, because God's ways are always better than ours and He will always have the best solution, because He knows our life and our needs. When you pray, ask for forgiveness for your sins and be humble, honest and simple. God does not require that we have a perfect vocabulary, but that we are true, because He already knows us and knows everything we need, but He wants to talk to us and hear from us.

How and how often you pray to God will make a big difference in your life. But the most important thing is to know that He is just and holy. Above all, we need to recognize that we have access to God because of His Son Jesus, who died on the cross to save us and restore our alliance with God. So, if you have not recognized Jesus as the Son of God and your Lord and Savior, it is important that you recognize and declare this in your prayers. God's ears are open to hearing our prayers and pour His blessings in our lives.

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." 1 John 5:14-15
