Mute the many voices

Lord, my God and my Father. Teach me how to listen to you.

How to silence the many voices in my mind. Voices of doubt and fear, voices of arrogance and pride, voices of selfishness and vanity. Father, I know that You know me more deeply than I can ever understand. I want to pray to the Lord as myself, as who I am, without vanity or pride. The Lord knows who I am, truly in my spirit. Father, I want to learn to have a simple and humble heart like Lord Jesus Christ's heart. The Lord searches me and knows me since before my existence. You already know my story and the words before they leave my mouth. When I pray to the Lord, I want to pray like a child, with the simplicity and innocence of a child so that my many defects and flaws do not prevent me from being true and simple. Father, teach me to listen to you so that I will not be deceived by the many voices of this world. None of them matter. I want to learn to obey Your requests and follow Your ways, because I know they are bigger and better than mine. I know that Your thoughts about me are thoughts of love, so I want to depend on You. Teach me, Lord, to serve You and to listen to You. Have my heart to love You deeply and I know that I will fear nothing. Therefore, I give You my heart and my ways, because I know that I can trust You.
