“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:6-15 ESV
We cannot stop praying to God, because prayer is the only way of communing with the Lord.
The Lord God is omniscient and knows all things, but He wants us to seek Him and to want in our hearts to have a relationship with Him.
Like Adam and Eve in heaven, God had a relationship with them, visiting them every day and talking to them about their experiences.
But when they sinned, this fellowship was lost and broken by the sin of disobedience.
We cannot deceive ourselves and be frivolous about who God is, for He is Holy and He wants us to be aware that in order to approach Him, we need the remission of sins and salvation through Lord Jesus, because Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection allow us to approach God again today.
If we are honest with ourselves about our wrong ways and sins, and if we are sincere in repenting and asking God for forgiveness, every day, because we sin every day. If we pray to the Lord Jesus asking him to save us, because we believe in His sacrifice for us, then we can have full conviction that the Lord listens to us and answers our prayers.
Prayer doesn't have to be a ritual, it just needs to be sincere and humble.
Prayer does not need to have difficult words, but it must come from the heart as you know how to express yourself.
God knows his heart, but He wants to hear his voice.
Prayer can be silent, in thought or spoken, the important thing is to focus on God.
When you pray, be honest in your weaknesses and failures, ask for forgiveness and the Lord will forgive you.
Remember that Adam and Eve had the opportunity to ask God for forgiveness when they sinned, but they decided to hide and blame each other.
God does not want to condemn us because of our faults or sins, but if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all injustice.
But evil wants us to hide, so it accuses us in our minds to feel ashamed or guilty.
Do not allow evil to manipulate you as it did Adam and Eve.
Give yourself this chance to have a relationship with God and learn how He can transform your life.
God loves you.
